  • Getting Ready for Arbor Day & 5 Benefits of Trees

    As the City arborist I am lucky to be able to plant trees year round and especially on Arbor Day. We hold an Arbor Day every year, the last Friday in April. The city celebrates this day with the community and our wonderful children. We partner with the Davis county library Clearfield branch and do a program called Trees and Tots. The library comes out and reads a few books about trees then the children get to assist in planting trees. So let’s plant some trees.

    If you have taken swim lessons at Clearfield’s Aquatic and Fitness Center in the last 35 years you probably have met Elisabeth Norton. She came to Utah from Holland in 1953, living first in West Point and then a few different places in Utah before ending back in West Point later in life. Elisabeth is a staple to the aquatic center, and with her friendly smile it’s easy to see why everyone loves her.

    Americold, the global leader in temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics to the food industry, has officially broken ground in Clearfield, Utah to expand its site located at 755 E 1700 S. This project will add 6.5 million cubic feet of temperature-controlled warehouse space to Americold’s current 11.2million cubic foot facility on the site.

Some are very apparent, such as the City Centre Apartments, a multi-use complex, across from City Hall.
