A Message about Fireworks

Please use caution when lighting fireworks this holiday season. Fire danger is extremely high right now. Although Clearfield City has not adopted any additional restrictions, please review these reminders and the city code for playing it safe this firework season. Section 4-5-8 (B) 2: “Discharge: Fireworks may be discharged three (3) days prior to, on the day of and three (3) days following July 4, July 24, January 1 and the Chinese New Year.” Section 4-5-9 (C): “Possession Or Discharge Of Fireworks On Public Property: It is unlawful for any person to possess or to discharge any fireworks on any public property. Public property includes, but is not limited to, schools, city parks, the Clearfield City building, any other property owned by the city or any other public entity. This subsection shall not apply to events provided by or authorized by Clearfield City. (Ord. 2008-04, 7-22-2008)” In addition, state-wide fire restrictions have been issued by fire managers from the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This means that all lands in the state of Utah, except incorporated towns and cities, are closed to fireworks. Residents of the county, on unincorporated private lands, are prohibited from setting off fireworks along with several other restrictions.
