An Affordable Family Night Out! A great Broadway musical; swashbuckling action; mysterious Cheshire cats; Cruella De Vil and over a hundred puppies! Clearfield Community Theatre is offering a full season of familyfriendly shows, showcasing top of Utah talent. “Give My Regards to Broadway” “What better time to highlight George M. Cohan’s well-known patriotic songs than the fourth of July?” asked Alyn Bone, director of the July production of “Give My Regards to Broadway.” “It’s not just a revue, but an entertaining story. It’s a feel-good show that the community will love to watch.”“You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “The Yankee Doodle Boy,” “Mary’s A Grand Old Name” are a sampling of tunes included in this show about one man’s struggle to get a Broadway show off the ground, between financial problems and a troublesome leading lady. With sparkling tunes, you’ll find yourself humming the toe-tapping melodies days after the show! “Give My Regards to Broadway” will be performed Monday, July 2 through Saturday, July 7, show time 8:00pm, Bicentennial Park Outdoor Amphitheatre, 931 East 600 South. Seats are $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and over. Reserved seats available for July 4 performance only. Tickets can be purchased at Clearfield Community Services, 55 S. State Street, or at the door the day of the show. “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” Presented by Clearfield’s Children’s Theatre group, and directed by Deanna Gardner, audiences will enjoy Alice’s madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the DoDo bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with the bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game! This production is a fast-paced stage adaptation featuring updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as “I’m Late,” “The Un-birthday Song” and “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.” Performances of “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” will be Wednesday through Saturday, July 25, 26, 27, 28 (Saturday includes a matinee at 2pm in addition to the evening show), show time 6:30pm, Clearfield Community Arts Center Little Theatre, 140 E. Center Street. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and seniors, and $3 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Clearfield Community Services, 55 S. Alexandre Dumas’ “Three Musketeers,” adaptation by Ken Ludwig, is the third show of the Clearfield Community Theatre season. “Three Musketeers” is an exciting tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes, and above all, honor. The story, set in 1625, follows d’Artagnan and his tomboy sister, Sabine in their adventures in Paris. D’Artagnan encounters the greatest heroes of the day, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the famous musketeers, and joins forces with them to defend the honor of the Queen of France. “Three Musketeers” is directed by Liz Christensen, and will be performed August 9, 10, 11 and 13, show time 7:30pm, at the Bicentennial Park Outdoor Amphitheatre. Address and ticket information is listed under “Give My Regards to Broadway.” “Disney 101 Dalmatians KIDS” Cruella De Vil really wants a new fur coat, and she’ll stop at nothing in her attempts to steal all of London’s brood of Dalmatian pups. With a delightfully fun score, lovable characters and one of the most deliciously evil villains in the Disney repertoire, this stage adaptation, presented by Clearfield’s Children’s Theatre group, and directed by Deanna Gardner, is certain to charm and delight all audiences. Auditions for this show will be held Saturday, August 25, 9am – 11am at the Clearfield Community Arts Little Theatre (more info will be provided in the August newsletter). Performances will be held October 10, 11, 12, and 13 (Saturday evening and matinee) at the Clearfield Community Arts Little Theatre, 140 E. Center Street.
