Community Council
Wednesday, 01 August 2007

Citizens at large have formed a community council. The council comprises volunteers from the citizen and business community, working for common goals to make Clearfield City a better place to live.

Recently the council was involved in the "Take Pride in Clearfield Day," where several projects took place. A new park was built at 500 West 200 South, fire hydrants were repainted and the Clearfield High School football bleachers were painted.

There is continuous effort made in finding ways to beautify the freeway entrances to the city, and other projects can include recreation, helping to zone parts of the city, as well as legislative issues.

There is a need for volunteers to help make the Community Council a larger asset to the citizens of Clearfield City. There is a city council member assigned to the group and this person takes back information to elected officials. This is a great way to let your voice be heard and counted.

The council needs a broad base of people from seniors to the youth in our community. There is a desire to have a broad spectrum of ethnic and culture diversity to help on the council. Volunteer your talents and the rewards are yours to enjoy.

Meeting time for the council is as follows:

2nd Thursday of every month
5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Community Services Conference Room, 2nd floor, Clearfield City Building

If you need further assistance, have questions, or would like to volunteer for any of these programs, please contact Public Relations/Special Events Coordinators Michael Bybee or Natalee Flynn.
