Aquatic & Fitness Center COVID-19 FAQs

Aquatic & Fitness Center COVID-19 FAQs

Posted on 05/07/2020

This “Corona Period” is throwing us all for a loop and forcing us to think outside the box and explore new options to help us open our centers and provide a fun and safe place for our patrons to exercise and recreate. With this in mind, the next few “Stages” will bring some new hours, availability and even different types of admission options. We recognize that there is no “One size fits all” or “Perfect Plan” for everyone. Our goal is to provide these services without jeopardizing the long-term operations of our center.

What are the hours of operation?
Beginning Monday May 11, 2020 operating hours will be:
Monday – Thursday: 7 am to 7 pm
Friday: 7 am – 5 pm
Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED

How many patrons are allowed in the gym at the one time?
We will be limiting the number of patrons in the center at any given time. Each area has a specific number of people permitted based off of the 1 person per 120 sq. ft. rule. Here are our current available area maxes:

  1. Weight Room: 17 people
  2. Cardio Room: 33 people
  3. Lap Pool: 1 person/lane = 6 people
  4. Basketball Courts: limited to 1 immediate family (same household) per available hoop. No game play. Only shooting baskets.
  5. Leisure Pool: available for “Water Walking” in approved area only (6 people following social distancing regulations)

Can I use my current membership?
With the software we utilize we are not able to bring back selected accounts. We also realize that many with Family Passes, whose children may not be able to utilize the center during the next couple periods, would not want to be paying for time when they couldn’t use the pass to its fullest extent. Since we don’t have a true “Open Plunge” period, we can’t provide all our typical services. For “Moderate” and “Low” risk periods we are offering the following options to all interested patrons:

“Corona Pass”: For 1 individual for 1 month: $25 (Clearfield Residents)
                                                                       $32 (Non-Clearfield Residents)
5 Punch Pass: $25 for 5 admissions (can be used by anyone in the family)

Where can I purchase the passes?
Both passes will be available for purchase online. You can use your computer, phone, or smart device. During this time, we will not be able to accept any payments “in-house”. All purchases should be online or on your smart phone.

When are you going to bill me my monthly fees (For those on the “Paid Monthly” Plan)?
CAFC will resume billing on the day the government moves us to the “Green New-Normal” period.

When will my old center pass be valid? What about time lost?
Although we don’t have a specific date yet, once the “Green/New-Normal” period has been announced we will activate all passes that were valid on March 13, 2020 when the center closed. Additionally, we will add on the lost time to all those passes (I.E. if we end up with 3 months of total closure, all passes will have 3 months added to them when we are able to move to the “Green” phase).

Can I use a third party coupon or pass during this “Moderate Risk” period?
No. Only the “Corona Pass”, Punch Passes, and official CAFC guest passes will be permitted.

Can I put a temporary freeze on my account?
We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic has created unforeseen circumstances for many people, so we want to make sure that you know you can re-freeze your account for up to one month past the “Green New-Normal” period.

What about the Leisure Pool?
The Leisure Pool will be available for “water walking” only. We are hoping to do rental blocks in the future, once we are able to do so.

What amenities are not available yet?
Lockers, Hot Tub, Spin Room, and Group Fitness Room will remain closed until further notice.

Is the Daycare open?
The Daycare will remain closed until further notice. Members who pay monthly pass fees will not be charged during this time.

Do I need to wear a face mask while working out?
Masks must be worn while checking into the center and whenever interacting with center staff. The Utah State Health Department highly recommends the use of face masks while at the gym and we highly encourage it as well. Patrons can make the decision to wear them or not once they are at the location they are going to utilize. All CAFC staff will be wearing face masks.

What will I be asked in order to be able to use the center?
“Have you experienced any of the following: Fever, Cough, Shortness of Breath, Muscle Aches and Pains, Loss of Sense of Smell, or a Sore Throat?”

What are your social distancing guidelines while in the center?
We are asking all members to maintain a 10-foot distance between themselves and others in the center. CAFC has implemented procedures to help ensure these distancing guidelines are respected including visual reminders, area closures and staff to monitor and enforce these rules.

What else is CAFC doing to keep the center clean?
We are requesting that all members disinfect equipment after use and are providing extra sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer. In the “Moderate Risk” period our staff will be wiping down all equipment in between use. We also will have staff disinfecting all open areas of the center throughout each day and doing a deep clean/sanitizing every night after closing.
